About Van Buren

Sarah Van Buren, CNM, WHNP-BC is a certified nurse-midwife and a board-certified women's health nurse practitioner at Artemis OB/GYN in Union, New Jersey. She is passionate about extending thorough and holistic care to all birthing people and clients with gynecological needs. 

Sarah completed her master’s degree in nursing in midwifery and women's health from Yale School of Nursing and was inducted in Yale's chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. While at Yale, she completed concentrations in gender and sexual health justice as well as global health management, including the global quality maternal and newborn care program. 

Sarah has had the privilege of seeing exemplary midwifery and gynecological care in a range of clinical settings, including hospitals, clinics, and birth centers in Northern Uganda, Timor-Leste, Thailand, Japan, the United States/Mexico border, and cities on the East Coast including New Haven and New York. She further grounded her interest in reproductive rights and transgender care with her work as a nurse for Planned Parenthood.
